Some Reviews From Here And There

Last November. Already it seems like so long ago but, believe it or not, this is back when we released our ‘This World Of Ours’ EP. Over the past few weeks though we’ve been starting to see the reviews come in from across the fabled internets on various blogs and websites. So far they seem to be rather nice too. Have a read of what people have been saying about us below and don’t forget to check out their other posts while you’re at it.

“We’ve had some interesting band names pass through us here at Tipping Point towers, however Deafen The Creatures is a definite contender for one of the oddest that I’ve ever encountered. However with the release of their sophomore EP ‘This World of Ours’, the band have not only reassured us all that no creatures were harmed in the making of the EP, but they have also produced a collection of tracks that demonstrate a fine mastery over their electronically infused acoustic sound.”

“A few months back, I gave a review of Deafen The Creatures’ first EP, The Way the Noise Began. I loved the airy dreamscapes they created with their sound and the fact that a band so young could produce something with such sonic complexity. I’m a little late to the table with this review of their latest EP (which is FREE to download from their website) but I’m proud to report that The Creatures have not lost their touch. This World of Ours is a slick, polished collection of guitar-tinged electronica.”

“The subtle, delicateness of their sound is what makes them so beautiful. Each song captivates you and sends you on an incredibly emotional journey. Now I am a big Heavy Metal fan with an even bigger scepticism towards the Acoustic Electronic scene, so to find a band whose music can completely change your views on different music genres is definitely a band worth listening to.”

Happy New 2012 and Things.

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you all had a good festive season and consumed a ridiculous amount of food like we all did. It’s been a bit quiet here on the blog recently for one reason or another so there’s quite a few things to catch up on even though 2012 is barely a week old.

First off, we’ve been back on BBC 6Music! Things move quickly in the radio world (we only found out last week) and Tom Robinson has played another of our tracks on his Fresh On The Net show which you can check out here. We strongly recommend you listen to the entire show if you get chance because there’s some great new music on there, but if you’re tight for time then you can skip to 16:30 and get your Creatures fix.

Secondly, as if getting some airtime on the BBC wasn’t enough we’re also included on this month’s Sentric Music podcast! When the opening line is “How Do!” you know it’s going to be a good one and Simon Pursehouse is on form as always. Again there’s some quality new tunes for you to listen to so check them out in the nifty little embedded player below. We’re on at about 45:15 (by the way, we don’t have any mugs yet).

And last but most certainly not least, we’d like to give a big shout out to The Cape Race for giving us a support slot with them at MOHO Live in Manchester last December for what was quite possibly the single most epic gig that we’ve played so far! Thanks to everyone who turned up (even Kez’s parents came along) and to all the people who’d never even heard of us before but still stood right against the barrier at the front and enjoyed the show. It was something special.

Anyway we hope that you’re having a good year so far and that if you haven’t already got hold of our new ‘This World Of Ours’ EP (and why not?) then you can download it for FREE from our Bandcamp page here. Much Love!

Dust Jacket Dispatch – The Mix Tape (Review)

Grant Goodman from Dust Jacket Dispatch over in the good ole US of A has taken the time out to listen to our debut EP, The Way The Noise Began, and has a few words to say about us. You can Read The Full Article Here.

“Grant gives a listen to Deafen the Creatures, who won’t hurt your ears, but will make you glad you have them.

My first music review for the month of September comes from the UK . Deafen the Creatures consists of members from Liverpool, Widnes, and Manchester and their debut EP, The Way the Noise Began, is a sonic painting of autumn landscape. The cover art of a dying tree, created by Jennifer Birch, is a great companion piece that symbolizes the mood created by the five track EP.”

Don’t forget that you can listen to the entire The Way The Noise Began EP for free on our Music page. Also available for download from iTunes and physical copies can be purchased from our Store.
